I always wanted to paint something allegoric to religion. This illustration started just as a simple practice, wanting to get the handle of Old Masters (hah, as if... ). There's no art that inspires me as much as Boticelli's or Bouguerau's, to name a few, and I was thinking that it would be awesome that a contemporary artist was born to mimic that style (if someone knows that artist, please let me know).
So in my attempt to mimic that, I did this. I know it's still full of mistakes and it's way too far away from the image it was originally in my head, but still, I'm tired of this piece and I want to move on to another one.
I took references from everywhere, from old paintings to my own body. Some refences came from from sxc.hu as well.
I want to thank all my friends for not rolling their eyes everytime I sent a WIP xD And special thanks to
for her composition eye and the dove suggestion.
